Dr. Parhar is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Critical Care Medicine in Calgary. He received his BSc (Honors) in Immunology from UBC as well as a MSc in Experimental Medicine from UBC. He completed his MD at Queen’s University before moving east to complete core Internal Medicine training in Calgary. Dr Parhar has completed fellowship training in General Internal Medicine, as well as Critical Care in Calgary, which included training in echocardiography. Ken has also completed an advanced fellowship in Cardiovascular Intensive Care at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, England, with a focus on mechanical circulatory support.

Ken currently leads the extracorporeal life support program in Calgary, and is also leading a combined QI/research project on ARDS management in Calgary. His current research interests are acute respiratory distress syndrome, cardiogenic shock as well as extracorporeal life support.
