Late Life Team Grant Fall Forum
For two days in November local researchers, stakeholders, community members, volunteers and patient and family advisors gathered together to collectively launch our CIHR Late Life Team Grant. Engaging presentations highlighted the importance of empowering both older adult patients and their caregivers. From practitioners and researchers to former patients and caregivers the forum provided a space to share experiences and to develop ideas for improving patient care. On the first day, presentations provided an overview of the current Late Life research projects. Presentations highlighted the need for family engagement in ICU settings and included a call to increase meaningful opportunities to engage the public in the research process. The second day of the forum focused on the incorporation of the research projects showcased on the first day into a targeted complex intervention for older adult patients, caregivers, and health care providers. Thank you to all who attended our 2016 Fall Forum!
